Stock Footage File Types

DV 720 x 480
(4:3)
Standard television 4:3 aspect ratio in digital video format. Launched in 1995, it has since become a standard for home and semi-professional video production. The DV specification defines both the codec and the tape format. Features include intraframe compression for uncomplicated editing and good video quality, especially compared to earlier consumer analog formats such as Video8, Hi8 and VHS-C.
720 HD 1080 x 720
(16:9)
High-definition video or HD video refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD) video, and 720 most commonly involves display resolutions of 1280 x 720 pixels (720p).
1080 HD 1920 x 1080
(16:9)
High-definition video or HD video refers to any video system of higher resolution than standard-definition (SD) video, and 1080 most commonly involves display resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels (1080/1080p).
2K 2048 x 1024
(2:1)
True anamorphic 2 to 1 (2:1) cinematic digital content. 2K is shorter than HD but wider. When using a 2K file in a 1080 HD project, simply enlarge the 2K clip by 6% to eliminate the letter box at the top and bottom and "pan and scan" when cropping off the sides. This provides you increased flexiblitiy in producing your project.

Cinematic offers downloadable "digitally mastered" 2K stock footage as well as 1920 x 1080 HD stock footage. We offer most of our footage in a Pro-Res 422 HQ, Pro-Res 444, and an Animation .MOV Quicktime codec.

Please be sure to read the description of each clip for more information on it's individual codec, frame rate, file size, and length of clip.
3K 3072 x 1728
(16:9)
Cinematic has a wide variety of stock footage shot in slow motion. To capture the highest quality available while shooting in an "overcranking" or slow motion mode, we set our frame size to 3072 x 1728 (16:9). This allows the camera to create a beautiful high resolution image while shooting at 60 frames per second.

Be sure to look up some of our slow motion stock footage while searching Cinematic.
4K 3840 x 2160 HD
(16:9)

4096 x 2048 HD
(2:1)

It creates a format to bridge the gap between digital video and 35mm film. It is state-of-the-art, large format digital content which goes beyond the boundaries of high definition. It provides you more creative freedom and offers something extraordinary for cinematic productions.
